People helping pugs

Our thanks go out to our volunteers who are truly amazing.

Erik & Michelle Hoeflinger

Hug A Pug AZ Rescue & Adoption Group's founders and the CEO and President of the organization. Since 2006, Erik and Michelle have turned their love of dogs into an active and bustling rescue group in Tucson, Arizona.  They are recognized by PACC (Pima County Animal Control) as the go-to Pug Rescue in town when a stray or abandoned pug is surrendered.  They both have outside jobs, but work tirelessly to save pugs who for some reason or another have become homeless. Rescue is their main passion and what they get up for in the morning.  Erik and Michelle currently foster "Hunter", "Wilbur", "Yoda", "Lola", "Bindi", and "Sparks"... all up for adoption on our FOR ADOPTION tab.  Thanks for helping needy, homeless, stray, and unwanted pugs!

Peggy has been with Hug A Pug AZ Rescue & Adoption Group since November of 2011.  She toggles her time between an outside sales job and the rescue administration.  Peggy is the web administrator and the Secretary of the Hug A Pug AZ organization.  She uses her various talents to build rapport with the community and organizes and facilitates fundraising.  Peggy currently fosters "Peeta", "Milo", and "Ed"... all up for adoption on our FOR ADOPTION tab.  Thanks Peggy for all your help!

Lisa Petry

Lisa has a big beautiful home and a big beautiful heart.  She has volunteered for rescues here in Arizona for several years, and we are lucky to have her with us!  She has adopted Zoe, who was renamed something more fitting for a pug DIVA, Betty Grable, and Lisa currently fosters "Fiona" who was rescued June 17, 2016.  Thanks for everything you do and for who you are, Lisa!

Ed Brodzinski

Ed has been with Hug A Pug AZ Rescue & Adoption Group since November of 2011.  He toggles his time between an outside transportation job and fostering for the rescue. 90% of the rescued pugs go to his house first and he plays with them and welcomes them into his home.  Thanks, Ed for caring for our pugs!
